This mainstay motif is named after Louis XIV’s preferred castle located near Paris, Château de Marly, which featured paths through the woods lined by trellises, created to contain the exuberance of the robust trees that filled the grounds. Pulling inspiration from these wonderful woods and tapestries of the time, Colony created the beloved design.
